Soap Boxes

"Moses get off your soap box."

The other day I was at the Clevelands and I guess I was talking to much, feeling the spirit you know, and Morgan was intreating, very religiously in fact, for me to stop. (To those of you out there who were like me and really didnt know what the whole soap box thing was all about, it means something like a stump speach. Or rather where an individual spontaniously gets up and starts waxing eloquent.)

This experience taught me a lesson. Life is not about how much wisdom you can impart to others, but rather how much wisdom you can learn from others and in turn teach with the way you live.

So often our soap boxes become so high and lofty that we forget about getting down and listening to someone else. Better yet, we forget about getting down and walking away from the soap box, the talk, and start acting like we want people to act. Gandhi once said, "Be the change you want to see in the world."

Talking is often easier than living. But living cannot happen, fully, until you stop talking.

I'm done talking.

Me and my dearest.

Life often gives bundles of happiness. To me, one of my dearest and most prized bundles of happiness is my sister. Here she is...in all her beauty and excellence, she's the sweetest thing.

She said it.

Avery is one interesting person. Avery Phillip. I think I got that spelling right...lol.
She begs people to call her Ave. I believe her real name is real nice. She is a great person for two main reasons. One: if I want an honest opinion about something, like does my hair look ok, she will tell me straight that it looks outrageous if it does. It hurts sometimes....not really. I usually dont end up fixing it even if it "looks" bad anyway.
The other reason...well refer to reason number one.
JK...She is down to earth and understandable.
I need a bit of that down to earth stuff at times...

Of all the bogus I post on here, she was honest with me to tell me it was boaring. So if you are reading this Avery, I hope you havent fallen asleep yet.

Ryo, I think, thinks you are wise. Because at times he tells me to leave work and go talk to you. Most likely to get some good advice of some sort....

You have contributed so much in my life and in the lives of many around. keep rising to more exellent levels of success as you are now.

(p.s. although I wrote this primary so that you can follow my blog and thus I can get more followers then John, I do mean every written word I wrote down here.)

who wants to be a millionaire

I was reading John Cho's blog. thats chojohn.blogspot.com. I wanted to write a response to his article.

I disagree Ya.
Life is not made simpler with more money. Although you were probably joking, i believe this is a very relevant issue to many people.
To state it as breifly as possible, money often brings insecurity.

To say it will make life simpler is a statement that refutes itself. How can gaining more, make things simpler. Especially in the aspect of finances, it is anything but easier. Look at the US government.

Money is an object that will terminate one day. If the source of happiness and satisfaction is found from money, a source that has an end, the individual will be insecure. There is a daily threat that the money will be destroyed, or liquidated. This leaves the individual constantly wishing for either more money, or more secure ways to stash his money.

The only source of true security comes from a source that will never terminate.

Therefore John, to you it will most likely be a curse to be a millionaire, right now at least, because right now it's a time to realize the eternal purpose for life. This will give you true security.

Money is not bad. Whats bad is if money is your purpose. Your purpose needs to extend beyond a life you can live on earth, or its no lasting purpose at all.

Does religion count?

Recently I have been thinking about the presidency. In particular, the presidents religion. Does it matter what religion the candidate abides by. In other words if a witch was running for president (and no O'Donnell is not running) would you be voting for her? When we look at the current options we see, Evangelicals, Catholics, and Mormons. Would I decide based on religion? yes. I believe that a man is to have character, strong moral character, in order to enter office. If a man has a strong moral character, he will put God before anything else. His religion is first. If this is not the case then he does not have the criteria of a good president. That being said, what would happen if the religion of the president requires him to act contrary to the constituion. Religion definetly plays a big role in the actions of a president. A Catholic, for example, owes alligence to the Holy See. Bless their hearts, I want the president to be bound by the constitution. There have been many great Catholic polititions, but it definetly should be a source of concern. Religion does count. Religion can really shape the outcome of the administration.

Do we dance?

Its a strange paradox to look to the middle east and dance for joy over the death of men who destroyed men. A paradox in that they danced when they killed, now we dance, when we killed them. Do we really think we are different. Are we? indefinetly, we need to be thankful that men who kill have been removed from power, but with complete sobriatly we ought to move on and commit ourselves to not let it happen again. Individually most of us probably dont kill.

But what about the murder of the soul?

how often do I tear people down, and kill their self-worth with words.

One thing I will dance for is when my tongue can be "killed" so that it can kill no more.
